Hey Gang
'86 L98 manual trans.

I replaced the worn-out throttle body w/ a BBK 52mm body.  The throttle shaft and bushing hole are worn and the throttle wants to stick at 13-1400RPM.

I have the base timing set at 9BTDC and minimum airflow set at 400RPM per the book.  Min TPS is set at 0.5V.

When I come to a stop, the idle settles at 1000-1100RPM for 5-7seconds then drops to 6-700RPM. Is this normal for these engines or is the IAC motor a bit slow to drop the idle speed?

Jonathan.....

My '94 LT1 is similar: rpm holds at about 1100 until completely stopped then settles to about 800.

Sounds good.

It runs beautiful and pulls stronger with the new throttle body.  Fuel mileage is a bit better also.
