Vette(s): 1984 coupe,
I have used the elim.  I found they were a little loud for every day driving in town.  But I also have no CAT, replaced it with a bolt in test pipe.   Ended up going with Flowmasters ser 40 and no CAT.   sounds great.

Elim  are a great way to go for the money though.   make them yourself for about $30.00 from your local parts store.
Tongue  way to go!!!  they do nice on my 87 vert (sold) and have now ordered them for my 92 as oem muffler sound like a toyota....
Thats the thing to my ears...I have notice elim. pipes sounds great and seem to add better performance on the pre-LT1 motors...for some reason they sounded like a glass-pack on LT1 motors unless idling...might just be my ears though.

My 84 has them and they are not loud at all, but once I removed the cat they are louder but sound even better, now people think a crossfire is a super powerful car.

Vette(s): 1987 T5 5 speed ,cast iron head motor (no history on this) Z-51 Bright red with gray leather interior Greenwood spoiler,Corvette Central muffler eliminators and American Racing 16" Gotti replicas.
We have the Corvette Central muffler eliminators and find them just right. Love the sound! There is a bit of resonation but not enough to be annoying. Cool

My buddy has them on his 1985 vette. They are way too loud.

Gives me a headache.

Have chambered exhaust from Sweet Thunder in Detroit on my '95, great old school side pipe sound; pretty loud, but I love it.

Vette(s): one ea. 1996 LT1, red on gray interior, stroker 383 Dart heads w/ 2.02"int,1.60exeh 11.8:1, Comp Cam 230/236@50 .570/.576 113LSA , Crane 1.6:1`rocker arms, GM Delphi roller lifters HiFlo Cats, Xpipe and low restriction muffles, it sounds lumpy at idle!!!
I installed a set of DynoMax mufflers along with CAT back duels m/n 19476 on my 1996 LT1. This complete assembly removes the resonator and sounds pretty cool too. Here is a install diagram in a PDF  < http://www.dynomax.com/instruction_guides.php  > I purchased the cat back from NAPA for $584.00 plus shipping @ $60.00. These exhausts are a special order and that is why I had to pay freight.
I had installed a set of JB shorty headers which have all of the connections for EPA and fit the LT1. Some where along the way I had my tuner install a pair of high flow cats. Anyhow I thought some of you all would like the black rectangular tips that look like the late model exhaust. JRB

When I bought my  89 coupe , It had  1 muffler  ( With Holes ) & just  1 pipe  opp-side  I had them both redone all the way back to the  "Y"  for 80 Bucks  with  Stingray tips I got from a good guys show  for  15 bucks  , Man this thing sounds  mean when I step on it  and has a nice lil rumble @ idle....... I've since gave away the  Flowmaster  1 chambers I had got for it  .....not  needed @ all . Thumbs Up

Just bought my 85 in April with eliminators and the cat still in place. Sounds mean, certainly improves performance and gets a little attention. I like it, but would not want the car to be any louder!
