Okay. I have installed the BBK 52 mm. throttle body unit on the car. Now I have created a new problem. The original, corrugated air coupler part will not stretch over the larger clamp surface of the BBK throttle body. I don't think I want to modify it to work, either. I see a product called Power Smooth intake air coupler on eBay. I have sent them an email asking if this is known to be able to fit the larger aftermarket throttle bodies. Do any of you know? I see that the later C4s have an offering of a silicone air coupler -- do you know if it would work for my application? I am anxious to get the car back on the road! I didn't realize that the stock butterflies were only 47 plus change mm. This sure looks to me to be a big difference...

I went into this side project feeling that everything has been encountered by now and am amazed at the responses I'm getting. Seems like perhaps everyone involved has already forgotten. My emails to Corvette vendors go unanswered. Nobody knows what solutions are out there... For now, I have ordered a coupler -- the smooth one, and hope that it will stretch over the BBK oval shaped lip. If it doesn't, the BBK guys say I should heat the original (perfect) coupler and probably permanently disfigure it. Oboy! So at least with the aftermarket one, I know I have one that will accommodate the original throttle body if I choose to get it rebushed and rebuilt (if I am not happy with the BBK one).
Good news is that it's nice to have a heated garage for this project to languish in, and I am in no hurry to get the Corvette on the icy roads for now. I still have a bunch of time before the runs begin. After I do the initial work I had planned, I can go do the fun, dressy stuff -- I have brake caliper paint and valve cover painting to do, and I will shampoo the carpeting before the season is upon us. Anybody have a favorite carpet shampoo they like to use?

Not a favorite shampoo but Bissel sells some good stuff.
Also; try and post photo's of your project when asking for help.....its more helpful to offer solutions.
Finally! Some progress! I found the solution and wanted to share it in case somebody else does this... I went to Corvette Central and ordered their AIR COUPLER # 154547 and it was able to stretch over the fat lip of the BBK throttle body, and fit to the MAF housing on the 3 1/4" side as well. As I finished I heard the typical rumble of my Pacific Coastal location as the latest wind storm rages outside.
I won't be testing the car any time soon.
Next project will be trying to determine the hose that connects to the water pump from the passenger side and below. Charts and depictions show a straight pipe, but mine is T shaped and I am not getting any closer to finding a parts # for mine... Anybody know? Thanks, Dan
