I just ordered the original build sheet, the original window sticker, and an original 1990 Brochure from the Corvette Museum for "MY" Car. Both sheet and sticker will be laminated. I know it doesn't add much to the driving of the car but in my mind it will add to my ownership of the car to have those. has anyone else bought these for their car? If so were you happy with the quality? I know the Corvette Museum certifies these as authentic from Chevrolet for each vehicle and they are available from 1981 forward, and the price is reasonable, but just wondering what your thoughts are. Vette(s): 1985 Coupe-L98/Auto,Bright Red/Carmine.
1974 Coupe-L48/4speed, Medium Red Metallic/Black Deluxe.
I "ordered" a GM Restoration package from GM 100(give or take
) years ago for my '85, before the NCM started selling them. They sent me about 15 copies of the build sheet, and that was it. It was free, so I can't say much about it, other than it is the build sheet for my car, and it was actually delivered to a dealer just 80 miles from my home town, but originally sold in Lubbock, Texas.
When I called about the same package on my '74, a couple of years before that, they sent me a TON of stuff on it, including the engineering papers/specs on the drivetrain/ chassis, which is pretty dang neat. But...no build sheet!
I think getting all of the documentation you can on your car is definitely worth the effort...it's just neat to have, plus it can answer some questions along the way.

I ordered a build sheet from NCM and it was fine...I have the original window sticker from the car and the original owner had it laminated..also bought the 1988 dealer brochure...it's nice when at a cruise night or car show and people can see the documentation I have with the vehicle... IMHO you won't be disappointed....

It's a cool thing to have, decoding the build sheet is actually fun. I show them at car shows and cruise nights and they always spark conversations.
Kind of a geeky birth certificate for your car.

Having as much documentation does add some value to your car, especially any original docs you can find and keep in good shape. With the build sheets it proves what was ordered on the car when bought, so if you ever go through an NCRS type judging contest it's very helpful.
One funny side note, I put the Lam sticker in my window during Vette shows and somehow drunken slobs percieved that as being a car lot and started to climb into the neighboring ragtops. The owners were sitting next to me and about lost it as his sweaty tank top'd hairy drunks slid into his freshly cleaned driver's seat, which hadn't been judged yet.
