Every generation of Corvette has it's own critics. The solid axle guys don't like the mid-years, the mid-year guys don't like the Sharks, etc etc....
The C4 generation was totally praised when it first came on the market, and each sucessive year brought more praise for the advancements. When the C5 came out, the poor C4 was dumped like a fat girlfriend for the beauty queen on prom night.
That's just how it is, and has always been. But....you'll see, in the future, the C4 generation cars will become more popular as the earlier cars(Sharks) get priced out of contention.

I like my C-4 and nothing wrong with a girl with some meat on her, especially after she's already been broken in!

i own 2 in 2 different generations. i get equal amount of praise for each one of them. it's all personnal choice. you can't please everyone. my ultimate corvette would be a 63-67 but cant afford one but still love my other 2.

The C-4 was a complete break from all things Corvette when it first came out. New aerodynamics, new looks, new motors, new gas mileage, Horse Power was rated in a different method, More emphaisis on Torque. Old Vette enthusiast felt betrayad. Those who want newer will always abandon the old for the new. So the C-4 doesn't fit in with the 1 thru 3 catagory cause it's too new, but it dont fit in the 5-6 catagory cause it's too old. Give it some time and it will find it's own place in the world. (it already has actually, but people haven't learned to appreciate it yet) Trooper 2011-07-01 19:09:12

I like the torque, and handling of my '85. I love the ride/comfort of the '74. I just don't fit in the '85 as well as I do in the '74. The electronics on the '85 can be aggravating, and doing any work in the interior is a pain at best.
Both cars have their good points and bad points....as do any of the other generations of Corvette. I would never even consider owning a C5...period. Just don't like them. I've driven many of them, and worked on quite a few too. Just personally do not like them. That doesn't make them worse than what I have, or better....just different....too different for me. I'll stick with the Classics.

I did a lot of research before I bought my C4 and haven't been unhappy with my decision at all. I get a lot of compliments, from C5 and C6 owners, too.
Love my C4!

see, even people that own the same cars can disagree on things.. to me working on the interior of the 75 is worse than working on the 90 where as joel says the opposite. as far as the fit in them, for me both are ok. just different ways to slide in and out of them from the design. understand that the seats in the 75 weren't redone but i dont think that would have made that much difference (comfort wise), so i installed c4 seats in it.
have to agree with ritajean. both my corvettes get compliments from a lot of different generation corvette owners.
