I bought my 1990 C4 on a totally spur of the moment deal. I saw in on the local craigslist. I had to work on the wife for 9 days! Finally she said "do what you want" which means no but I heard it as yes. Ha Ha.
Luckily I had lost 45 lbs or my ample rear end would never have fit in the sport seats.

I was exactly 1 minute in to the test drive when I knew it would be mine. The asking price was firm but very fair considering the awesome condition of the car. It needed some fixes but nothing serious. Antenna wouldn't go down and changed the mast which the seller provided. The inner in outer dew wipes were toast and again the seller provided the new parts. Those were replaced in about 1 hour.
Although not factory fresh at 23 years old the paint is fantastic and the leather has been taken care of. Nothing to do but keep clean and drive.
I've never driven a car with such torgue! Awesome. It pulls and pulls and quickly too. Wow!
My first Corvette and my first sports car of any kind and I get V6 gas mileage to boot.
The C4 is an awesome car that I can afford and appreciate.
If it isn't broke, I haven't fixed it yet....

I Pulled into a Arco Gas station in Fremont ,Ca yesterday A Guy with his C5 ( 50th Annv ) was already inside paying for his fuel, I come out behind him , He stops & looks @ my C4 Then looks around for the Driver We both say hey nice ride .... He then kept walking around my C4 and giving great complements , I thought his 2003 was much nicer . I'm a Proud Corvette owner & that's it ....I love every Corvette ever made . I love the feeling of Driving a Peterbilt ,Driving my C4 , Then Jumping into my Chevelle ........ Not a greater Feeling

tbird .....my story of my C4 purchase is very close to yours .....
Thanks Mike. An 88 in Charcoal is pretty rare isn't it? I'd like to see pics if you have any. My boss has a 2010 Z06 in charcoal and it looks awesome like the one in your profile. I think he's got around 14,000 miles on it now and is shopping for tires. OMG expensive tires.

all i know is the 84 corvette was under powered, however its the first year of the c4. my 84 is my first corvette i ever owned. and i love her. i have learned allot about this car. i will never get of her. she has come apart of my family. I'll sell all off my collector Harley Davidson's before i sell my baby. so let the critics talk about the c4 all they want, who cares what they have to say any ways. live on c4's
