I used http://www.newenglandchrome.com/  (East Hartford) for a set of ZR-1 sawblades. They copper plated them for me first so they should last (unlike Corvette Mike which lasted couple of years before they started flaking). Cost was about $300 each. Lots of "chromers" don't touch wheels. New England Chrome is in an industrial park and the first time I went they were closed. Fortunately the paving guys next door were good enough to hold my wheels till New England picked them up. They didn't charge me to strip them and mine didn't need any repairs. Expect some chemical disposal costs added to their quote (about $50 as I recall).

Vette(s): 87 Red Coupe, not as pretty, had 213G miles, great running engine; got 20-21 around town, 27-28 on hwy; I got to drive a Vette, every day for 6 yrs. It was my first; so now I know what the fuss is all about. (Sold it 2015 for $3000, still ran great.)
When I got my 87 (I traded even for my 2003 Harley Sportster), it had 17" wheels off a 1990, or so. I often wish it had the 16" originals, which would have a taller, fatter, tire, and give a more cushioned ride. I drive daily to work, so I could use less stiffness and more comfort. My old steed is not a race horse, it's a work horse, and some good old walking sneakers would do better than the thinner race treads. Ah, someday. (here's a pic of my 87, which would have been made with the disk-like ones, such as on Adam's Apple's 85) (It's not that it looks bad, it just rides kinda hard, and old folks like less bone jarring, that's why we wear Rockport sneakers to shuffle around in...)
