Its true, open up the clamshell hood at these car shows,
and people come running like a moth to a flame.
Its unique to the C4 and a really cool feature.

Except when you are swapping a cam...no front access for timing cover, hub, etc. is really a pain  (in the back).  Otherwise, I agree, it's a great feature of the C4.  Plus, no need to buy fender covers.
