I have a 86 Convertible and purchased a Quick Jack to get me car off the grown for maintenance . Has anyone used this on the convertible before? Do I need blocks to safely pick my car up? Thanks

There are 4 jacking points for you car. If you look at the very bottom of the sides of the car body, you will see the arrows that point to the 4 correct locations for using a jack(2 each side). The area BETWEEN the two arrows is where you will lift. There are two sets of arrows on both sides(front and rear). The front ones are just below where the front of the door meets the front fender. The rear ones are a just behind the rear of the door. A wood block is recommended between the jack and body, since the area is pretty thin. Depending on how your new lift is set up, you can use this info to correctly, and safely lift your car.

Be AWARE, that a convertible has cross-bracing under the car/frame that hangs down somewhat....make sure your quick-jack doesn't come into contact with the bracing!

Thanks for the reply, Yes I have cross bracing under my car. The Quick Jack will hit the bracing before the pinch welds underneath the body. I also purchased 4 pads that could work in the factory jack locations but thought it was better to pick the car up on a larger surface with something other than the factory jack. Once I figure this out I will post pictures for anyone who was thinking about lifting the C4 convertible to access the bottom of the car. Thanks again for the reply.
