I looked up my 1992 C4 on compnine website. I typed in the VIN and it gave all the otions for the car as it came from the factory. At the bottom of the page it said it was a 1of 1 car. That no other 92 vette was built with this color and these options. Is that unusual? There were many different colors and options available in 92. Maybe that is why it is a 1 of 1?  Confused

There are actually quite a few "1 of 1" Corvettes. The record keeping starting in '82 at the Bowling Green plant has made it much easier to document more of them, tho. Records from the St. Louis plant was dismal at best. I know of one Admiral Blue with Torch red interior '94, and the guy paid dearly for it, since it is documented as the ONLY one with that color combo.
In reality, it's entirely possible that no two Corvettes are exactly the same, with the exception of the '53s, and even those had minor differences from car to car.
Depending on the options and the color combo, having a "1 of 1" car can be really special, and potentially valuable down the road. Then again, there was ONE '77 Corvette painted Chartreuse from the factory, making it a "1 of 1", but...in that case, rare doesn't equate to valuable!
Hey....they're all special Corvettes, no matter what, right?

Just for sts and grins, I ran the VIN on my work car...
"There are 1 1995 DEVILLE 4 DR vehicles (0.001%) matching your exact options list. There are 10 (0.011%) with at least as many options."

I'll run the '85 tomorrow, and see how it comes up. This is fun!

Vette(s): A 1986 coupe currently with 60,000 miles, purchased in August of 2010. G44 - Rear axle 3.07 ratio, Z51 - Performance handling package, FE7 - High performance suspension, FG3 - Preloaded gas shock absorbers, to name a few.
That was my question.  I tried my '86 and got a message saying it wasn't in the database.  This would be a neat thing to see methinks.

After reading all of this I decided to check mine, and I got the following, Exactly what does this mean?

There are 1 1990 CORVETTE 2 DR vehicles (0.006%) matching your exact options list. There are 14 (0.087%) with at least as many options.

Same thing again, and I'm sure I entered it correctly.  Message said:

"Nothing found for VIN Number 1G1YY078XG5119445. It may be that we don't have it in the database yet, but be sure to check that you have typed it correctly. Be sure to try back often, we're constantly updating the database."

Guess they don't want me to know anything about my car  lol
