I was looking for a tray for the floor door behind the driver's seat of my '95 coupe.  I don't know if my 1995 coupe ever had a tray there or not.  There is about 2 inches of clearance from the lid to the structures inside and I thought I could use it to store things if I had a shallow tray to fit the space. My wife suggested her egg carrier lid. Much to my surprise it fit perfectly.

So if you are interested in one yourself make sure it is a vintage Tupperware Deviled Egg Carrier. The lid on the left in the link is the part that fits upside down.

I too often thought the compartment behind the drivers seat should be usable, but couldn't figure out how to do that.
