Well my morning could not have been a lot better...I headed over to a local hot rod shop and and when I got there I saw the So-cal roadster being loaded on the dyno. So I get out of the vette, which is getting an estimate for some work, and one of the guys asks if it's a real ZR1? I repy no and he tells me that him and the guy walking up the driveway are a couple of the engineers on the C4 ZR1's. They told me their pictures are in the book " Heart of the Beast".I taked to them for about a half hour and enjoyed every minute... I wish I could remember their names, I looked in the book and think I could put their names on here but I would hate to put the wrong names up. A very, very cool morning!!!!SmileSmileSmile

Gee...you'd think the guys that were involved with the engineering of the Z would be able to tell if it was real or not! The most obvious difference is the wider rear 3/4 of the car!

That's kewl anyway! It's always a trip to talk to anyone associated with the design/building of any Corvette generation. The stories these folks can tell is just amazing!

I think he wanted to see what my answer was going to be and if I lied he would not waste his time talking to me.

Those two guys could have been the reason GM quit making the C4 ZR-1, sounds like those two couldn't find their a$$ with both hands, let alone a ZR-1 from a 85 C4.

They were there tuning the So-cal/ Haas 34 Bonneville salt flats coupe. I have to go back and if they're there again I give them your regards!

I actually took a couple of pictures with my phone but it was to dark so you really can't see anything. If I knew the car and those guys were going to be there I would have brought the camera with me.Wink
