Doing a brake upgrade for about $400. total. New drilled and slotted Rotors, Ceramic brake pads, and Caliper covers that assist in cooling and keeping Dust down. Found them on E-bay. They are not the oversized racing upgrades but factory size with the upgrade cooling abilities. a much cheaper and resonable upgrade ... I already received the rotors and brake pads 2 days after ordering.

Here are the parts

I'm a little less than pleased with the performance of my brakes.  Do the ceramic pads give you more stopping power?  If so, I may change the pads despite the fact that mine are still pretty thick.
Thanks!
Paul

Well, all I can say is after changing the rotors to the new drilled and slotted rotors and adding the ceramic pads it darn near stood me on my nose when I hit them. I am sure it was a combination of the two but I like the end result. There was instructions with my brake pads that told me to go out and drive to 25 and hit the brakes normal bringing the car to a stop, to do this 10 times without allowing the brakes to cool. Then to take it to 45 and stomp the brakes hard and to do this 4 times and to allow the brakes to cool after each stop. This is suppose to break them in I guess, after doing this I am very happy with the brakes now, but I wasn't very happy with them before I changed them either.

The Caliper covers I bought have made a difference too, the brakes seem to run cooler, and there is nowhere near as much brake dust since installing them.

I'm confused!  VB&P tells me that their 13" front rotor/caliper kit will fit my '91 with the stock 17" x 9.5" sawtooth wheels.  Now, all of you guys are saying "it ain't necessarily so."  Where's the fitment problem...inside wheel diameter or offset?  Can the caliper and/or the wheel be "milled" to provide sufficient clearance without weakening either one?   Seein' as when I bought this car 9 years ago it came with a beautiful set of chromed sawtooths (they still look new),  I sure would like to keep them on the car, but I need more stopping power too.  Is there a logical answer?

I don't know much about what fits and what does not, but I can tell you that I satayed with the facotry sizes, I am running the ZR1 rims that allow you to see the rotors and brakes pretty clearly and it's pretty obvious to me that there is not much extra room in there..In the piucture below you can see the front much easier and there is no real extra room in there, I would be greatly interested in knowing what you find out.....

OK, I just bought some ceramic pads.  If I can find the time, I'll put them on this weekend!  Good chance to bleed them too, and get the old brake fluid out.
