Hi, I own a 1987 Corvette Convertable. I noticed that the bushings on the shocks are worn out and most of them missing. I want to replace them but am confused on what to purchase for the replacement. I see in a catalog a set of yellow shocks close to $300. or others that run about $250. Most of the car is stock and I right now would like to keep it that way. Can anyone help me on what shocks I need to get?

Depends on what suspension option your car had originally. If the shocks on your car now are yellow, they are Bilsteins, and you should replace them with the same, imho.
btw...the Bilsteins on my '85 also have bad rubber bushings, and have had for years....

The overall suspension on the '84 were firmer to begin with. If you got the Z51 option, it's like riding in a dump truck! They DO handle well, tho. The later cars had a softer spring/shock rate, due to so many customer complaints about the harsh ride in the '84s. Still...the Bilsteins are what the suspension was engineered for, so that's what I would replace them with.
Dave....Mama ain't checkin the fuel with a stick no mo. Dang car ain't been driven in a couple of years, since the A/C compressor locked up. I may be a "mechanic", but....I'm a lazy one!!
