I just replaced all the calipers, rotors and pads on my 93 Ruby and the right rear brake hose is leaking where it bolts to the caliper. I tried a new banjo bolt and washers and tightened the bolt as much as I dared so I wouldn't strip it. The hoses are old but look to be in good shape. Anyone out there ever encounter this problem?
Thanks!
Update: I rechecked the rebuilt caliper and found that the casting where the brake hose connects was not flat enough to make a good seal. It could be that it was re-machined by the rebuilder and not done correctly. So I sent it back to the supplier for a replacement. Thanks to the members who provided their advice on ths problem.

Since you replaced the calipers, check the surface of the caliper where the brake line bolts on. There may be a nick, or other damage that is creating the leak. Make sure the washers you're using are the correct size, also, as well as copper, or aluminuminum, as stated above.

The old hoses may look OK but they are as old as the calipers you just replaced. Braded brake hoses don't cost that much, around $100. or so. You will be impressed by how much your braking will be improved. They don't expand when you press the pedal.
