Some guys say their power steering is too light.  In my case the power steering is very stiff, especially at low speed.  Tire pressure correct, alignment good, tires lots of tread.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Sounds like your Rack & Pinon needs replacing. This is very common with the C4s, the internal seals break down over time and leak internally which causes hard steering.

There is a low priced, brand new Rack & Pinion with no core exchange available at rockauto.com - I just had one installed on my C4, but I don't have the car back yet.

Definitely worth a try.  The car sat for many years without turning a wheel, so it could be possible.  Wouldn't hurt to change out the pump too.  Rockauto is our friend!

Greetings, Be careful of "Made in" with the rock. Not always reputable components. The R.O.C. imports many things that do not last!

Whatever rack you get to replace yours, check out whether you can get one for the Z51 or Z52 suspension option.  This gives you 2.0 turns lock to lock, instead of the standard 2.3:1 rack.
