My tilt steering since i got it never really held a locked position.  Recently i could not turn it off so I knew it was time to get into in and finnaly fix it, the tilt, Hi-beam stitch and now the starter switch.  Come to find out the pin on the drivers side was gone, thus the twist in the alignment.  During the take apart, I took the pin out that holds the two "shoe, strg wheel Lock"(per shop manuel) and they do not match.  Is that normal?  Thinking I need to get matching ones befor the install.  Anyone one see this before?  Thanks!

Talked to Cheverlot, yes there are two part numbers.  Now the question which one is left and which one is right.  Have everything to put it back together today.....

I found these parts in my parts micro fische. 26017469 and 26017470. Unfortunately, they don't stipulate Left or Right.  HOWEVER, 7469 is stated "W/O NOTCH" and 7470 is described as "W/ NOTCH".  Generally: GM P/N's ending in even are Right Side. Ending in Odd, are Left Side.

So, try no-notch on the left, and with-notch on the right.

No guarantees that this is it, but hopefully it helps.  That's the way I would approach it.
