well in an earlier post in was looking for the correct wheels for my 84 with the correct part numbers. its no wonder i couldn't find them gm put the wrong part number in there parts book for 84. they put 1406 9517, 14069518 left and right. dy dz. this number is for the 8.5 the 9.5 is 14089517 and 14089518. now the 9.5 number is correct in the book. it took me a bout two weeks of research, to find this out. the good part number for the 8.5 is 140469517 dy, 140469518dz right and left. i found the correct part numbers Thur a guy that worked on the line in bowling green. hes around 87 years old now. however he has allot of knowledge about the first c4's. he also told me that the original manufacture for the wheels was Alcoa, in 85 they switch to another manufacture called Elaine. i ask him if gm put the 9.5 on because they ran out of the 8.5 wheels at frist early production. he told me they did.however it was a few of them. i ask him if he was willing to talk to us members of the c4 registry, his reply was no. not at this time do to sickness. i was very lucky to find him and talk to him. he's going to send me some production manuals for my 84. i will be gladly to share them once i get them. i called wheels of America and got the right wheels and part numbers for my 84 . for a reasonable cost . i would recommend them. there number is 847-734-9212 ask for Dave.

jonney great contact!! get the judging manuel ncrs for your year. it will take a lot of your research away. its not perfect but dam good. one of your responses you got was from Davy Perry he was one of the writers of the manuel for my year. listen to him great knowledge. Keep it goin' you'll be fine.
