mike, i would imagine you are talking about the bolsters on the side of the seat cushions. if that's what you are talking about, i would think that would hurt the comfort of the seat and look worse than the seat covers. that is just my opinion. i have seen on ebay seat covers made of neoprene that look like they are a second skin. maybe it was just the style of cover you got that didn't look right.

Vette(s): 1989 Convert. It's HERE ! ! ! This is my first 'Vette. Most likely my last toy as I am 71 years old.
Clap  Well guys here it is.  I just finished swapping my seats side to side.  Not a bad job but I can only speak for an '89 Conv.  with sport seats.  My seat controls are in the center console so no problem there.  If you are lucky you could take out the four bolts under the seat bottom in the corners and just swap the rest of the seat side for side.  If, like me ,you are not lucky you may have to remove the seat from the bottom frame then take out the bottom frame and swap it seat for seat then drop the whole thing back in.  I had to use a pry bar to locate the stud holes on the passenger side but not much pressure.  Anyway, it's done and I am happy....   Clap

Eddie, thanks for you idea on the bolsters.  Don't know why I said billets.  Its just frustrating the damage that happens everytime i get in the car.  I show the car so any car seats would have to have easy removal.

Thanks again for your thoughts.

My black seats (standard type) were just starting to show a little scuff on the drivers bolster so I pulled the cousions, took out the four bolts that hold them to the frame and swapped sides. The scuff isn't noticable as it is now on the inside of the passenger seat. The small lever which adjusts the back slant is now on the inside of each seat but thats the only difference. I did notice that after 14yrs and 45,000mi the new (passenger) seat felt brand new with firm foam. I love the difference. It took about an hour.  Dave
