I've been looking under my center console at the build sheet and I have some confusion.  My sticker shows that I have a black interior, black seats, belts etc.  However, my interior is Tan...  I do have a black dash and steering wheel but that's it.  Tan carpet, seats, belts, even door panels.  The rest of the build sheet seems to be correct - Z51 suspension, dual roofs, engine, body color etc.  Thoughts?

Is the console lid tan too?  I'm no expert but the tan interiors I've seen the dash is also tan.  Could it have been swapped sometime in the past?

The only other way to find out is maybe is to find the actual build sheet that's on the fuel tank.

Center shifter and padded console all black.  All the carpeted area including under the dash are all tan though.  It all looks legit and I don't think it was replaced / swapped.  I just wonder if sticker was printed but then it was ordered and changed prior to original delivery?  I posted a pic of the build sticker on my member page and the VIN is on there.  I wasn't aware of a build sheet on the gas tank, hmm is that buried up next to the underside though?

Also - my build sticker doesn't show anything about ABS system or tire pressure monitors - was that just standard by 1990 so not needing to be mentioned or do I not have them?  The tire pressure light came on once after I think the alternator repair but then turned off.

ABS was standard before 1990 but an "improved" system was installed in 1990 supposedly improved yaw control.  Early electronic stability control before "Stabili-Trak" in 1995.

LPTWS is standard too.

I've read that the "build sheet" is glued to the top of the fuel tank.  Not sure of the survival rate of a sheet of paper on the tank. LOL

Leather seats became standard around this time too.  (I think).

Z51/FX3 was optional except on the ZR1 which it was standard.  I too have the two top option.  I think my coupe has every possible option except the Delco-Bose Gold but I have the six speaker set up.  The sheet in my console is full of RPO codes.

I also have the 3.07:1 diff which may have been required with the Z51 but it is listed separately.

When I added up all the prices for the RPO codes plus base price mine was well over $41,000 new.  I can't imagine spending that on a car in 1990.  ZR1 were an additional 29,000 bucks. OMG!

I think something is incorrect with your car with regard to the interior.  Either the RPO list is incorrect or it has some hybrid option on the interior especially considering the dash, steering wheel and console being black and the rest tan.  Very strange.

If you are referencing the decal on the console lid, or rear compartment lid, that is a list of all of the RPO coded options on the vehicle, as well as standard equipment codes. You might find that on some cars, with the two toned interiors like yours, that there are two codes listed. The main color code is for the main interior parts...seats, door panels, carpet. Black dash pads are prolly on 90% of them, regardless of seat color. Some colors induce too much glare, so black is used instead.

I knew someone would chime in that has a lot more knowledge than me.  Still his RPO show black seat belts etc.

Car companies can be strange when documenting options. :)  Mine is simple.  All black.

It's entirely possible someone has changed the interior out to the colors they wanted...unless you bought/ordered this car new...Wink

Also, the chances of the interior being equipped differently than what the parts list shows is really low....as in, prolly never happened. If it is listed on the RPO/parts list, it is a 99.9% certainty that it left BG that way. Of course, it could have been changed at the dealer, if the dealer had a customer that really wanted the car, but din't like an all black interior. The dealer could have changed the interior to make the sale....that kinda stuff happens all the time.

Would the dealership have any record of that back in '90?  It was originally sold from the dealer that is closest to my home!  Not that I'm losing sleep over this but is interesting to know the history of your 'Vette!

I recommend going to the Corvette Museum website and purchasing a copy of your original build sheet and a copy of your original window decal. they don't cost much and they will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about your car when it was built.

My '94 vert is tan interior but with black dash and center console. Looks Polo in the pic but it's black.
