On my 96 I bought a new rubberized center console to go around my shifter and the underside did not have anything to bolt/screw in the leather boot for the shifter.  Had an extra plastic console cover and it had 4 metal caps that slid over the manufactured posts.  Was it supposed to have the metal caps to screw into from the factory?  The metal caps look to be press in and no magazines seem to offer them.  Thoughts?
