the cd in my '92 doesn't play.  just whirls around.  how do I remove the radio.  should I try it or take it to a pro?

There is a very good video on YouTube posted by Factory Car Stereo Repair, that shows every step needed to remove the radio.  I would recommend that after the step where the transmission lever is moved rearward for access that the key is turned to the off position (surprised that the power was left on in the video).

Thank you chevykid.  lots of good videos/  took me a while to find the right one.  it was great.  very clear and helpful.  I could never do it without the video.

now that I now how to remove the radio controls, on my 1992, is a 1995 model a direct replacement.  will it connect, fit and play?

It would appear from online searches that '92 and '95 radio heads are the same, but I am not certain that they are.
You may want to contact Mid America Motorworks, Corvette Central or Ecklers Corvette to confirm this and check into possible rebuild of your original radio head (Mid America Motorworks rebuild price is less than $300.00).
