Has anyone tried getting an upholstery shop to recover just the leather side bolster on the driver's seat of their car?
It would seem to be the first place the upholstery shows wear and damage and it seems a major expense to have to pay for a full kit and recover the entire seat or pair of seats when such a small area requires attention.

I have the exact same problem. My driver seat is in reasonably good condition except the side bolster on the door side.
I will take my car in for a new top next week and ask how much it will cost to have just the bolster recovered,

Very good Red. I'll be interested to hear the quote. It may be a bit different (as in ... more expensive) up here in Canada... but It will give me an idea what to expect.
I hope to get my exhaust sorted this week and will possibly see about the seat bolster during the Winter if it seems reasonable.

Red ended up not being very happy with the job done on his top, so he didn't ask about side bolster repairs.
If no one "chimes in"... I'll try to see if it is possible next driving season.

I had the same problem on my '94 Coupe. The side bolster on the drivers side was worn. I looked at replacing the whole cover but that was very pricey. I asked around and found a local upholstery shop that does a lot of the hot rod and custom builders work in the area. He replaced the panel that was worn, with material that exactly matches what was there and charged me a hundred bucks. I thought that was a good deal. I took the seat out and delivered it to him and had it back in two days.
So, look around, there is probably a shop around you that can do the job.
Drive safe,

Thanks Bob. That is very encouraging. I'll check around up here for a shop.
In the $100 - $150 range would suit me just fine.

Got my exhaust all sorted out at a very reasonable price by a small local shop. Have not got around to having the seat looked at yet. New shocks really helped handling and reduced shakes and rattles. I'm happy!

I had my side booster replaced about 12 years ago and 30K miles by a local shop in Saginaw, Michigan and it still looks good and you can't even tell. I can't remember the cost but it was reasonable.
