Does anyne know of a manufacturer that makes the L-shaped weatherstripping that goes on the sides of the dash, and seals up against the doors? I believe ths would be for 84-89 cars.

I have checked with both Soff Seal and Metro, with no luck.

Try Willcox....they have almost everything and their quality is excellent, at least what I have bought from them.

I bought a 10-piece weatherstrip kit from Lonestar Car Parts about 2 years ago. I did a lot of research before making the purchase because there's so much junk out there. The kit I bought was excellent in both material and proper fit, and cheaper than Mid America, Ecklers and Corvette Central. When I talked to them on the phone they said all their weatherstripping is made in the USA

zips corvette has them..thats where i got mine for my 90. they are called a wind lace seal. ordered them and had them in ab out 3 days. one thing about zips that i like is that they tell you right there if they have them in stock.

Zips has a terrific reputation too. I haven't bought anything from Zips but have always heard very positive things about them. That's the great thing about our forum, you get to learn from other peoples experiences and knowledge

another thing is like ecklers they charge you for quicker processing where zips doesn't plus they are cheaper too. they also have a blog that you can get some info on things like adjusting windows etc.

I bought the 7 piece weatherstrip from Lonestar Car Parts. The A pillar weatherstrip only last for 6 month. Finally I bought one made of latex from Ecklers.Has been installed for 6 month witout problems.

Bought a complete kit from Eckers. The door strips are crap. Now I need to slam the doors closed!

How long ago did you install them ? When I did mine a few years ago, the doors and windows were very tight and it took a good month to settle in and find their "happy spot"

i bought a set of gaskets from a guy that was going to redo an 85 and changed his mind. they were high quality and fit perfect. about 2 weeks after i put them on the car the drivers side gasket broke. i should say this that i don't know how long ago he bought them and i did not get the receipt that he got or one from him.

i emailed the company (metro moulded parts) and explained what happened and if they could do anything for me. i had to scan and email the warranty card that was in the box and they sent me a new set of gaskets for both doors.

also asked about the B pillar gasket as my windows are hard going up. they told me to give it about 2 more weeks and if it doesn't get any better that they will send me a new B pillar gasket.

they might be expensive but they stand behind what they sell.

I'm voting with Willcox. Their weatherstrip worked great. It's been a year with no cracking etc. It fit well going on and has stayed that way. I replaced my convertible top and all the associated weatherstrips. Everything looks good and the rain stays on the outside!

Hi helphos - a little off topic but I was wondering if you did the top replacement yourself ? If you did, how did the project go for you?

I did mine a few years ago and it turned out to be alot more difficult than I had planned. I give my results a grade "B" and the flaws make me crazy. Good thing the top is always down when I drive it

. i checked with my gm dealer theres still alot of ome seals for a 84 and 85. there very expenive. tompsons astro tops told me only use a seal that is made of latex . if your not going with the ome. what do you think about it.
