I don't think so but its in the VIN number. At least it is in my 1992 but I don't remember which digits tell you that or maybe the VIN just tells you what number of car it is in a particular model year. I forget which one.

Actually, the sticker on the door gives the production date....if the sticker is still there...and legible...
It only gives the month/year of production, tho.
You can get a build sheet copy from the NCM, for a small fee. We used to be able to get them for free(from the assy plant) about 10 years ago, but they are charging for them now, as they come thru the NCM.

ahh thanks for the info
I guess Id have to ask for pics of the door plates in my case. I was just currious to do a build date search because I wanted to know how many of the 1984 corvettes were actually made in 1983, and what number in the vin sequence was actually the first 1984 made in 1984. This all started because I saw someones car on another forum and it was a 1983 build date, which I found kinda interesting. That train of thought lead me to ebay, where I looked up "1984 corvette" and started looking at vin numbers. I found 2 with pretty low vins. Not like down in the hundreds, but six thousand-ish and seven thousand-ish respectively. Yes I am a fan of random and useless information

Production of the '84 model Corvette began in March, 1983....I'd say MOST of the '84s were built in '83...and production continued until the '85 model came out in mid/late '84.
The first VIN was 01...

The last five digits in the VIN provide that information.
My '84 was built in March '84 #36,431 out of 52,000 produced.
Thanks for that Gooch. Thats pretty much what Im looking for. If March-ish 83 saw the start of production, and by March 84 they had made it to 36,500, then we can assume somewhere around 3041 units per month. March - Jan = 9 months, so in Jan of 84 the plant would have been somewhere around 27,370. Ok, now that thats settled... whew. Its fairly early in the day on my day off. Time for the morning energy drink and facing the day, now that Ive put to rest in my mind the burning question of build dates for cars made 25 years ago
