[QUOTE=jimmymack]I agree with all the above sentiments, but we (as members) have to do our part by promoting the site and telling other C4 owners about it. If the occasional dork joins, Adam has made it clear they will be knocked out for bad behavior. So if we want it to flourish, let's display those decals, talk it up at Cruise nights, etc. And of course, patronize the vendors that pay the freight by mentioning we saw their products on here. I always liked the C4. It has some unique features that other Corvette generations do not have. Actually there are what I call early C4's and late C4's. After some early engine modifications, 1984 thru 1989 models remained basically unchanged, 1990 started the change with the redesigned interior, 1991 had restyled exteriors and in 1992 the LT1 engine completed the change. The C4 suspension is quite good with skidpad adhesion of .84g (the C6 is .98g). Hopefully we will be able to increase our knowledge and enjoy our C4's more in the years to come
nice to see more people showing up here, it is cool this is working out here.
I am happy to be a member of this site. It's about time we had a site all our own!
I have really learned a lot from C4 owners. I have only had mine for about 5 years so I am still learning about it and since I am a female, it is sometimes hard to ask questions. Let's keep up the posting!! Thanks!

debra..don't ever be afraid to ask questions. that's how a lot of us learn how to fix these cars. never know when you might need something that you read here. no question is a bad question. and it doesn't matter how long you've been an owner either.
i have a 90 (c4) and a 75(c3) and i belong to the c3 site as well. have learned a lot just reading and asking questions. there are a great bunch of people at both sites that never fail to try and help whenever possible.
also welcome to the site and your vette looks awesome.

By all means, ask away! There will be NO talking down to anyone here, just because they may not know everything someone else does...we all started out not knowing diddly about cars.
We're all here to help, so fire away with any questions you may have about your Corvette! We LOVE questions...it makes us all think!

Glad to see the C4 forum, I like all vets but love my 1990, have waited years for her. Love the C4 look, wanted the analog dash, tight wrap around corkpit, ZF 6 speed transmission and most importantly round tail lights.
Picked up a pretty worn out ex Solo racer with 115K miles, Gulstrand suspension, ZR-1 wheels, some minor engine mods and 4 SCCA Solo championships to her credit. (Prior owner won them not me). Picked her up for $6,300 and have about $6K in her without cracking open the motor yet.
Love the car. Rather put some money in a C4 that build out any other car. Been there done that. This is much more satisfying. What was fun and when my wife came around was when I was stopped at a light in Newport Beach, CA headed for Laguna Beach on a warm June night and a Viper and Lamborghini pulled up on either side of me and we exchanged glances and smiles, We cruised off, (speed trap) and enjoyed the sound of each others cars. We weren't excluded as we might have been in something else.
I am glad to have a C4 forum. What I would really like is a cook book on how to build a reliable 1990 L98 383. The 1990 had the Speed Density Sensor rather than the 85-89 MAF sensor. Most rebuild parts lists I find are for the 85-89 motors.
By the way if you go back to 1983 when the 1984 was tested by all the car mags, the C4 was the first production road vehicle to pull 1g on the skid pad. The tires Goodyear Wingfoot were designed for the car for that purpose. Didn't last long (the tire or the name) but did the job. The tires were renamed Goodyear Eagles. The car had almost mid engine balance.
