There are a couple minor issues, very minor, which you normally expect anytime you do any major work, and generally speaking I can fix myself.
 
The doors are the only major issue with the work, The carpet is of good quality (Probably too good and too thick), the carpet job looks good, and appears to be well cut and properly laid, They used an industrial glue on the areas that don't have inserts, that has me slightly worried if I ever need to get in behind that for any reason. But overall if it weren't for the doors I would be very happy. If they would have just stepped up and fixed it properly and in a timely manner I would have been thrilled, Now I am just furious.
 
Got a "Mercy" quote today from one of the premiere interior shops in Nashville, the owner felt sorry for me and is giving me a rock bottom price to help me out to fix everything. Wish me luck....

Well, dropped the car off today at the new shop. Mgr. looked at the car and assured me the fix won't be bad at all. Feeling much bettr about the outcome now, will post back when I get it back and let yall know how I am doing.

Today I found out what was wrong with the doors and why they wouldn't close after receiving new carpet. I was right about the new carpet being thicker, and about it being folded under, but what i didn't know is the Upholstery shop had tried to take a shortcut, and instead of replacing my old carpet they simply installed new carpet directly ON TOP OF THE OLD. They never removed the old carpet and simply carpeted right over it. There was no way there was enough room for ALL that carpet in the door jam.
 
New shop has to rip out ALL of the carpet, both old and new, and then replace it. Another $600. to get it done right, and that is with them doing me a favor because of the way I was done by the old shop. Called my attorney and it's not gonna be good to be them.

Vette(s): I have a 1996 Collector Edition coupe with the 6 speed/LT4 engine. Looks and runs like new. 203 coupes were exported to Canada for 1996 and of those, only 83 of them had the Z15 option.
Wow! I can't believe that one! They actually put new carpet over old? Talk about out and out stupidity! Hope that you get everything corrected and at their expense!

UPDATE:
I got my car back from the "Other" shop today. The Carpet is now replaced, and the doors operate properly (Thank God.) But that cost me another $550 bucks, which i will now pass on to the original shop that screwed everything up. I have everything in place in case they refuse to pay the bill. My Attorney is ready to take them to task, plus I called the District Attorneys office who has now started an investigation of their own into "Fraud" charges. Seems their little stunt falls under the old "Bait and Switch" laws in this state...... Took it out for a ride this evening, it sure is good to have my car back.... 
 
Oh yea I almost forgot, I also brought home the carpet they had to take out of the car in order to fix everything, Both layers of it, the old and the new......

UN-freekin believable! YEah...I think you got a good case here. Problem will be gettin them to actually pay, even if you get a judgement. Chances are, if they were too lazy or stoopid to do it right in the first place, they ain't likely to have the $$$ to pay ya back, PLUS attorney fees...

your probably right Joel, but I am now determined to do everything I can to cause them some serious grief. If I can get my money back, that will be nice but if I don't I wont cry over it, but I will try to put them out of business. If they did this to me they are doing it to others. Their problem is they have under estimated how much Corvette owners love their cars, they may have as well have just messed with one of my kids.......Angry Trooper2010-12-30 21:31:48
