Nope - they're still on it.  But when it comes time to buy new tires I may switch it back to the stock rallys.  You and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum as, even tho' I like the looks of the TT IIs on a lot of cars, I don't particularily like the look of them on C3s.  I know a lot of folks like 'em, but they're just not one of my favorite wheels on a C3.

When I was looking at different wheels for "The Toy" I had narrowed down the choices to the 5 spoke A-Molds and the 10 spoke C5 wheels.  Price factored into the decision and the 10 spokes looked too busy on the car so the A-Molds ultimately won.

It is a different look on a C3 and I do get a lot of compliments on it.  I'll add your vote in the 'Nay' column along with my wife's vote (she likes the stock rallys better).  But so far the 'Yay' votes out number the 'Nay' votes by about 4 to 1.

I'd like to put A-Molds on "The Beast" also but my wife likes the stock wheels that are on it (actually I think she just doesn't want to spend the $$$).  When we bought the car there was just 7,500 miles on the original tires and they were all checked and cracked.  For safety sake they needed to be replaced.  She didn't like the tires I picked for replacements but I told her the originals were no longer available.  At least they were made by the same manufacturer (Goodyear) so that helped a little.

Y hope you didnt take me seriously...I was just tryingto get some cash out of Big-Baller (ka. Adams_Apple, AKA. Big-big-Baller-Joel)

I had the A-Molds on my car...they were just so overdone, just like the TT's are overdone on C3's (but look nice)

This:

Vs.

this

I havent found too many that dont like the latter...except for me....I just kinda like them, they are different and not too bling-y.

I had my Amolds on my SS, my truck, my C3, and only like the look of them on my truck, but lugs thread size (not pattern) was different.

I had new Nitto555 on them...road liek a champ, now I knock the filling out of my teeth until I get the right size tires.

How does the C3 handle with the larger rims?...smooth?
I see you have plenty of sidewall, does it sway?

You need an old set of Cragars with black centers and an aluminum lip to make that red pop!

And dont let Big-Baller talk you into those rims again, he has no taste in design for C3's, if he had one, he would probably have Keystone or TT's on it....LOL LOL

I think "The Toy" handles really nice the the 16" wheels.  Lots of folks were suggesting that I go with 17 or 18 inch wheels for more performance, but I was a bit afraid of going with too low a profile tire (C3s need more than a rubber band for a tire IMO).  So far have survived 'The Tail of the Dragon' nicely and also all the 'twistys' we chased around on in Arkanas.

What I'd REALLY like to find is a set of '78 Pace Car wheels, the ones with the red stripe.  I think those would look absolutely killer on "The Toy".

Yep, too much rim leaves you with a lack of rubber...on my new rims the option of 18" tire sizes were slim (at that time, now are plentiful)...so, I ended up with 285x35x18....I am gonna get 295 for more treadwidth, fill in the fender gaps, smooth out the ride, and protect the rim edges....40 to smooth out the ride , ect...the deal is, going with a 295 vs. a 285 may achieve all the above and not have that dadgum "rubber-band tire" look (I hate that look).

I agee with the PC rims....just make sure it doesnt have the black painted centers.
IMHO...I love the slotted rims, but, I dont like polishing....and I dont like the chromed slotted...so, its the painted polished...thats whats on my C3 and I have spinners (some dont like them)

Get the red striped, PC rims, polished and cleared, black removed from the slots and the center.....

or

steal the ones off of Big-Ballers rental.....Evil Smile
Ouch

LMAO

Jim

edited cause I cant spell!
