i watched a program on the speed chanel this weekend shelby super snake. did anyone see it. well they put the shelby up aginst the corvette. the shelby won over the vette. i can see why it did. the shelby super snake has around 800 hp. where the vette only had 650 hp. the shelby also went up aginst a porche witch it had only 550 hp, also a ferrrie spelled it wrong lol. it had 500hp. also a lambo it had 550hp. the shelby took frist place aginst all these fine cars. this show was makeing out that the shelby was the best super car made. i disagree. the corvette is the best ever. mind you the corvette was detuned for street use. if the gm enginers where brought to the track and tuned the vette it would have ate the snake for lunch.

Putting a Shelby Super Snake up against a standard Corvette is the definition of the term "comparing apples and oranges" Now lets see them put the Shelby Super Snake up against the Calloway, that would be putting one after market modified car against another after market modified car. THAT would be a comparison I would like to see..... but I doubt the Shelby Camp would be that stupid.

What criteria were used for the comparison? I didn't see this show, but some of the shows I've seen that compare performance autos seem to use somewhat arbitrary categories for the comparisons.
If they went mostly by HP is no way to compare. I see souped up trucks and SUV's around here a lot (or should I say I hear them!) and I'm sure they can go faster in a straight line. But put us on a road race course, and they'll be seeing nothing but my four tail lights.
Or, sometimes these shows even use entirely subjective categories, like looks! And we all know the Corvette is vastly superior in the looks department to any Mustang, souped up or not. 
No matter what, a Ford should never beat a Corvette! I agree that if you want to make an apples to apples comparison, then let's see a modified Corvette (like a Calloway, Lingenfelter, etc.) go up against the Shelby Super Snake.
I'll have to see if I can find this show and check it out.

they used a road coruse track i think it was in new york . they also had differant drivers. the cars where all stock the super snake ????able however the vette came in second place time wise. there is goning to be a other show on velosity chanel sometime in aug. will post time and date.

Thanks, I'll look forward to watching it. I just have to suspect that the comparison was weighted toward the Mustang! That's probably the Corvette bias in me talking. tv show on veloisty chanel , sory i haven't heard them saying when its comeing on as of yet. i keep looking for it. i'll post it right away when it comeing on. also i keep watching the speed chanel for the show to.
