today was a pretty nice day overall. even going back to work from vacation wasn't all that bad. nice afternoon and took the top off for the way home. put a chicken on the bbq for dinner, had a cup of coffee and talked the the wife. grandson said he was having a problem with internet and wound up restting modem twice

dinner is ready and i sit down and eat. finished eating and figured i'd go outside for a smoke and to put the top on the car. go out the door and the sky just opens up and it is pouring. run like an idiot and get the car closed up but of course the seats and stuff are all wet. get inside and dry myself off and get a couple towels to dry up the seats and console and go outside and it stopped raining.

.then come in and find out there is an outage on the cable and they are working to correct it.

Ya' know Dave. I would put that stuff in the minor inconvenience category. Well. gettin' the inside of the car soaked can be traumatic, but nobody got hurt, nobody died and it sounds like ya' had a nice dinner.

One major problem with getting the inside wet like that is all of the electronics in there...especially in the well behind the driver seat, as well as the power seats themselves. Doesn't sound like it got too wet, tho, but I bet Dave did!!

I told you if you didn't start taking bath's regularly that I would bring the rain down on you... Now don't make me Dance no more, or next time it'll have Thunder and Lightning to go with it.....

Yep, wet interior, sucks.
One day, in 1969, summer, warm night in NJ, in my drinking days/nights, I came home and thought I parked in my garage.
Actualy, I drove off the stepped back yard wall.
The top was down and I said FI.
The next morning, on the way out of the house, I realized, the vette, was not in the garage.
Holly crap, Marie.
It had rained, 3", over night. Talk about a wet butt.
The water, came over the sill, as I opened the door.
I was late for work and said, screw it, I'm going in, wet butt and all.
No more drinking for me. June 1969, my last drink and the last time my vette got wet inside.

sure did get soaked joel. alan you didn't have to dance as if i didn't get in the shower my wife would kill me and you'd be wasting time.
wally my dinner was great and i imagine you leave your roof off in rain storms all the time if you consider it a minor inconvience

i guess if i knew it was going to rain and left the roof off i would just blame myself for being stupid. i have forgotten to put the roof on and thanked the big man upstairs for it not raining. it just aggravates me that i remembered and knew nothing of a 5-10 min. rainstorm showing up. as joel said there is a lot of electronics to worry about in cars today.

Went to NHRA Race at Seattle in my '56 softtop, left the top in the boot. Forgot that it sometimes rains here, even in July. Came out in the morning and found it soaked. Put the top and windows up, cranked up up the heater and soon had a foggy interior. Evil car in the rain. Loved it!
