did anyone see the wheeler dealer show on the velosity tv chanel. they had a 84 vette on the show redoing it. the mirriors and rear bumper was differant. i thought it was cool that they would have an 84 vette on the show. it's filmed in the uk. the host of the program said when he bought the car to fix it up and resale it. the 84 vette is an hot item.in the uk . i hope someone on this forum saw it.

Yes, I watched it. it was a 2 part series and I watched them both. I was not impressed at all, neither with the car or the rebuild. I also did not care for the way they spoke so negatively about "American Muscle" cars. They kept referring to it in the "Muscle Car" catagory instead of as a international sports car. I usually like that show but all they really did in this one was spray paint the roof and mirors, added carpet to the solid roof to make it a headliner and bottom of the door panels, and added a new exhaust, oh yea and cleaned the aluminum rims (Pronounced AL-U-Miny-ium.) When they were all done they only cleared about 800 Pounds and the guy that bought the car was already complaining that the paint was very dull and would have to be redone. I was hoping for more......

cool, i'm so glad someone else saw the show. remember when he drove the others man's 84 and was driving like a mad man. well remember when the man that owned the other one said that a 84 was a hot item in the uk.and also said the motors where bullet proof. yes i agree they didn't do the car any favors by half ass fixing it. i don't know how much a pound or a quid, and ero. is worth as far as american money goes. well they could atlest buffed out the paint. perhaps this show was a put me down for corvettes.
I saw that...I about puked when they repainted the top and the outside mirrors with a spray can! The top in particular didn't look any better after they sprayed it than it did before. How did you like the new headliner they put in.....but you have to admit they do it on the cheap!

no lie bob, it was an insault to do that. it just didn't do any justice to the car at all. i wouldn't have bought it.

I also saw the program and never cared for it either. As far as the painting with a spray can, well, I did that also on my outside mirrors. However, mine turned out very nice and I can't tell it from factory myself, unlike the way theirs turned out on the show. Now unlike them, I would never spray my top from a spray can for sure. Muscle Car? Not exactly. The early C4's had torque and not as much horse power unlike the old days of the 60's and 70's true muscle cars with 'real' power. All in all, they started with nothing and landed up with nothing, not that it could not be restored a lot better than this one was. I'll agree, the show did NOT do anything for the early C4's and certainly nothing for a cheap restore job - if that's what they called it. Only glad that mine and so many other C4's aren't like that one so I hope people don't judge all C4's by that one!
