Thanks for the heads up! What an ahole! Instead of finding things to tax they need to cut wasteful spending! We should have a tax on stupidity. We could make a fortune from Sen Schumer.
I can't imagine that bill having a snowball's chance in Hades of getting passed, There are enough "Collector Car" owners sitting in the house and the senate alone to defeat that.

Special interest cars are now taxed according to value here in Ontario now. The province finally awoke to realize that many special/collector cars are worth a fortune. Let's say a '54 Corvette for instance. At one time the value to the province was zero but now you have to pay the tax on the car's value. If you buy it for $1000.00 you have to be prepared to prove why the figure was so low instead of the average value. If they think it's too low, the car has to be appraised and you pay on the appraised value.
True, they were losing out on some pretty substantial dollar values but what a cash grab scheme. The car was taxed new and now at every resale thereafter unless it's between specific direct family members.
Gone are the days of a rare car "selling" for a mere pittance instead of the true value to beat the taxman.
Well, it's no joke here in Ontario. At least we don't have to have them taken in and emission tested every 2 years or get a safety inspection. I bet that one will be coming sometime in the future because I can buy a new car, drive it for 20 plus years and never have it inspected to see if it's fit for the road unless I sell it.
