You guys will be sorry that you ever asked.

I was racing motocross for Can-Am and KTM factory teams.
I lived in Amarillo, TX at the time. Well, I was down here racing trying to qualify for the Grand National Qualifiers that would qualify me to race the Super Dome...of which I did qualify (for the fourth time) *insert strut my stuff*
I was racing for a team called "Team Wasted" We were the team that all the parents kept their kids away from in the pits

We played AC/DC, took shots of Jack Daniels, and taped centerfold layouts on our gas tanks during the races. We won team standing 3 years in a row.
For those that don't nor have ever followed motorcrossing...these events are a very big event.
I ended up placing first in 250cc expert and first in open expert.
In the pits, I was introduced to a Playboy Bunny. She actually asked me out and the next day during qualifications, she started calling me Gooch..I have no idea why...but I won.
When my friends and I migrated to 1/4 mile drag bikes and car racing, and then autocross car racing (SCCA), then name stuck.
Whenever I came from a down position and won, my friends called it getting "Gooched"
The name has stuck even during car shows.
I told you that you would regret asking...exiting stage left now
I resign my commission in shame
