I have a 96 LT-4 with 150k on it.  Just recently after replacing both front O2 sensors, and the service soon light going out, the light came back on with O2 sensor and a P-1441.  Previously the car was peforming OK but now the idle is up and down.  Any expericnce with fixing this code and replacing the switch, solinoid or canister.  "This is my hobbie, you can't pick up chicks with stamps".  Thanks all!

Had the same code a while back. I ended up replacing the purge solenoid and the cannister. The purge solenoid was sticking open at times because the cannister had deteriated internally. Engine vacuum pulled the tiny bits of charcoal into the solenoid when it was turned on causing it to stick open. To check this remove the solenoid and lay a white paper towel on a table and tap the vacuum nipples against the paper towel, if you see "black particles" on the towel you'll likely need both solenoid and cannister.

You didn't mention what the O2 code was, but it is possible on OBD2 cars to set a O2 sensor rich/lean code when you have a evap problem such as this.

P1441 Means the system has detected flow thru the valve when there should not be any. As saywhen said, it could be some doo-doo stuck in the valve, or there may be a leak in one of the vacuum lines. Crossing the vac lines can also set this code. The PCM thinks the EVAP switch is ON, when it should be off, which could mean the valve itself is open, or the switch is stuck.
Check the connectors on the valve....may just be loose, or the wiring may be deteriorated. If the wiring/connector is good, then check the valve to see if it is actually stuck open with doo-doo.

Easy access IIRC in the right rear corner of your Vette. No extra panels or anything which had to be removed for access to the cannister. There are plastic lines running to the cannister with short sections of rubber hose connecting the lines to the nipples on the cannister. The hoses were in very poor condition on mine so I also replaced them when I did the cannister.

Great to have you guys in my corner.  Foung the canister, changed all parts out with some hoses and the second start up the "Service Soon" light went out.  Thanks again!
