The ride home was fun but sad to say not without incident. On interstate 40 in Kentucky about 2 hours from Bowling Green a tractor trailer lost one of it's retreads and unfortunately I ran it over at 70 mph. There was nothing I could do as it happened right in front of me and I had no where to go. All cosmetic damage and all underneath the car. It goes to the body shop July 9th to be repaired.
On a positive note the National Corvette Museum was awesome and I highly recommend a visit.

i just became a member of the museum. was thinking of going and taking a look. sorry about your incident. great looking car. i want one like it. hard to find a low milage one, and one that hasn't been on a race track.
I hate those road gators. Always seems to be on the long trips. Similar happened to me on winter vacation but fortunately my daily driver, Put big dent in the rear quarter just the same. As for the Museum, I'll just say I wasn't impressed especially for such an icon. I suggest you don't go out of your way to go there. If you're going by anyway, then sure.
